The Dicer is a tangible interface and sampler for conscious randomness. By rolling the dice the potential of musical machines is explored in unpredictable ways. Users reflect on habits, free their minds from expectations and take musical ideas to an unforeseen sonic place. The Dicer allows users to gamble with randomness, to give it a physical presence and to make it playable.
