Item is an experimental prototype to show alternate interactions in personal digital collections.
The target group are collectors of digital items like pictures, music, sounds or videos. The problem of personal digital collections nowadays is that they are embedded in heavily functional oriented environments. The fun and inspirational part of maintaining a valuable collection is missing.
MOTIVATION
Our project is about personal digital collections. The target group are collectors of digital items like pictures, music, sounds or videos. The problem of personal digital collections nowadays is that they are embedded in heavily functional oriented environments. The fun and inspirational part of maintaining a valuable collection is missing.
PROTOTYPE
The goal of our prototype is to enable individuals to give them a defined space for their valuables. A more inspirational and intuitive experience of encountering their personal digital collection should be provided.
INTERACTION
We set two focuses: a) How do you add an item to the collection? We will illustrate how contents can be classified with the surplus of personal value. b) How do you consume your personal digital collection? The motivation to maintain ones valuables is key to a good collection.
ADDED VALUE / FUTURE POTENTIAL
Keywords (tags) enable the user to classify content more precisely. With the possibility to decide where items are placed and additionally seeing the relations between items, our target group will get a more inspirational, more effective and fun solution compared to common archiving systems.
